Happy hour. Great food. Fantastic people! Oh right, I was going to write a review... I love this place and I come here again and again.
Although known as a seafood restaurant, they're proud of their Glowball Black & Blue partnership steaks so we were shocked to find the steak in the "chefs special" dish (highly recommended by the waiter) was tough and not cooked as requested - then when we finally got the waiter's attention (because he never came back to check on the food), the plate was snatched away, it was tossed in a frying pan (including the piece I had just cut off!) thrown back on my same plate and shoved back in front of me! During covid times, this was particularly shocking - my "germs" were shared with the entire restaurant. Even Cactus Club would have made you a fresh steak. Very disappointed in both the rude service and food from a supposedly high class restaurant establishment.
Good food for the price
The seafood was amazing as expected. I would highly recommend going to this place for an amazing dinner.
Excellent service. I go to Coast for their Happy Hour. The Fish & Chip cones are simply addictive. The Oysters are very good. The quality of their house wine (white and red) is excellent. Highly recommended.
Really enjoy this restaurant on many occasions - happy hour, late dinner, lunch. They don't disappoint and quality has been consistent. Favourite dishes include their seafood cioppino, seafood linguine and truffle fries. Sometimes the dishes can run a bit salty which I hope they will improve in the future. Portions are quite generous and I always have leftovers left for a meal the next day. Before the pandemic, service was attentive and excellent - in fact, I wish the wait staff don't come to the table so much! Their happy hour is also a great deal - the fish tacos and oysters in my opinion is better overall for presentation and taste than others in the downtown region offering the same. I also like their decor although parking can be a pain at times - they do offer valet but it can add up to the bill. A great spot for a date night, evening out with girlfriends or Sunday happy hour with buddies. It's also my favourite of the Glowbal group of restaurants!
Food great , nice warm outdoor patio . Staff very helpful
You like good food? You like happy hour? Well this place has you covered. Best happy hour in Vancouver, no questions asked. Beers, oysters, calamari and Brussel sprouts...or pay the same for Veras, dummies
Great for quick lunch
his year due to COOVID-19 restrictions, we couldn't celebrate a proper Christmas dinner at our boutique. We decided to do take out from COAST since they are very close to our store. We ordered three different foods from the menu. The quality of the food was horrible, and the food was cold. This wasn't the first time that I was disappointed with their food, but It will be the last time. They are overpriced for the quality of the food and the service that they provide.
By far one if the best seafood restaurants in the city. This is actually my wife's favorite as its the only place she likes having clam chowder. We celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary tonight and they were so sweet to give us a free appy and take care of our dessert. The Sablefish main dish was my favorite part of our meal today. It was delicious and their specialty cocktails were unique and great. I had 2 of the cucumber & Pepper Gin drink. Service was 5 stars from everyone we interacted with! Great experience.
We had a great time . Food was great the waitress was fantastic and the table couldn't have a better view
Great service and above average to very good food. The chocolate and rasperry dessert was excellent. Thanks Coast!!
Great service Oscor our waiter made the experice even better.
Great food! Love it!
I’ve been going to Coast since they first opened on Alberni street. Great to see they have expanded their space. As part of the Glowbal group of restaurants, they have a certain standard for food excellence and service. The last time I went there was before covid broke out. It was just for a quick lunch. The restaurant was 80% empty, but our server was not very good. Had to constantly flag them down and finally asked them to talk to their host because they weren’t understanding our request. We ordered the clam chowder, seafood pasta and burger. For appetizers we ordered the fried oysters. They gave us complimentary hand roll and chocolate/fruit dessert as I booked the reservation via American Express concierge. Overall the food was solid. I think their dinner line cooks have better skill as the fried oysters were a bit burnt, and the seafood pasta needed more seasoning. I think I’ve learned my lesson and will only go here for dinner or happy hour.
Great seafood selection, service was even better, and large plexiglass dividers with ample social distancing
Exquisite, mouth-watering. Can't wait to return again soon.
I would highly recommend going here for dinner or brunch. The food is good and the service was excellent.
Expensive but worth every $$$
Awesome. Albie is great
Great food and even better people. Very welcoming. Laura knows what she is doing. Mike
Certainly a Happy Hour bonanza of an experience we shall never forget!
Meal was part of a set menu as it was part of the conference. The tomatoes soup was yummy. Salmon was a bit overdone and needed a bit of salt. My coworker suggested to eat with the mashed potatoes since less salty so together, your bite had flavour. Service was awesome. Ppl were friendly and kept topping our wine and water.
Fast stuff, good food, acceptable happy hour prices as well as menu selection. Good place to hang out with friends and chill.
The seafood was amazing as expected. I would highly recommend going to this place for an amazing dinner.
Fantastic service and even better food!
Very good service. Offer sushi and other standard fare. Food is 4/5. Best service we've had in a long time. Super place with outdoor seating with flame heat, indoor seating too. Contact tracing in effect.
Food is so damn good! Oh ya. Saaaaaakeeeeeeee
Best hostess ever for a Tuesday night. Sushi appetizers were awesome.
Arrived approximately 10 minutes before establishment opened at 2:30 pm. Was outside browsing the menu before my partner and I approached the door, only to be rudely told that they aren't opened for another 10 minutes. 5 minutes had passed when another older couple (who happened to be Caucasian), approached the entrance. The same lady who basically told me I had to wait, welcomed this couple inside despite telling me I had to wait until the establishment was "open." Fortunately, the older couple saw that I was waiting and told me to go first. Once inside, the hostess took my name and number, then proceeded to let us know they had reservations at 5pm. The need to tell us that when they had barely just opened rubbed me the wrong way (We weren't planning on staying for 2.5 hours) - second strike. The waiter attending my table was decent, but again, I noticed he was more attentive to the older clientele. Overall, just a poor experience for my first time being there. I should've gone elsewhere where I know my business will be appreciated.
The most amazing seafood linguine ever @coastbyglowbal So delicious and portion was enough to share between two small eaters. The crab dip was also a nice light snack. Oysters were so well priced and large at $30 for a dozen. Dinner was well plated. Open during COVID for dine-in. Enjoy the atmosphere at the swanky part of YVR.
Best place to get some food when in a rush. The service is fast, rates are convenient, excellent ambience. Will come back again
Food was great and amazing quality. But the hostess told me that I couldn't sit with my small dog outside on the patio. Then when I sat outside I saw another table sitting with their lap dog at their table. Was extremely disappointed by this hypocrisy.
Very amazing service. Will definitely be back
My wife and I went here for happy hour. We both had the house red wine and clam chowder and both were very good. I also had Kushie oysters which were excellent. The service was great as well.
Delicious food and fantastic waitress
Always a fun night!
Amazing
Food was delish. Undoubtedly one of the best places to eat seafood.
Laura was the best waitress ever. The food menu for happy hour is really good
I think I found my favourite place for brunch. $17 for chicken and waffle and $14 for French toast, it's comparable to most places but it was so good! The chicken was perfect, a little sweet and savoury. I like how they service their coffee in a smaller cup because I prefer my coffee warm, therefor it cooled down quicker. The French toast was extremely soft. What I thought was pretty amazing was they combined both meal into one large plate so my fiancée and I can share it properly. Now that was attention to detail, props to the server. No wonder they are a American express Platinum dinning program restaurant, only the best . Made me a regular for sure.
This restaurant comes with amazing food and service.... all at an affordable price.
Awesome service!
Great location and we could come for the oysters all day long. Thanks to Oscar Tammy and Sally
Good service! Excellent food.
This place never fails to deliver. They have awesome food for reasonable prices, there no long wait even when the spot is packed.
Ate here with a client on his recommendation. They provided amuse-bouche which was excellent. The salads were large and fresh. My chicken and prawn waffle dish was excellent and original. Oscar was an excellent server. Patio was nice. Felt safe and timing was great we were in and out in an hour.
There are certain things that were done well and some that were not. The sushi, surprisingly, was an interesting take and actually quite good. They used some kind of XO sauce to add more flavour to an otherwise normal roll. I would say the oysters were fresh and up-to-par. The parmesan fries are over-rated and have an unsatisfactory mouthfeel seeing as they decided to bake the fries with cheese instead of sprinkling cheese onto hot crispy fries. The lobster grilled cheese was WAY too rich and creamy for anyone's liking. And the tomato soup that comes along with it was unremarkable. We only came to revisit because of our Glowbal giftcards but I don't think I will be returning anytime soon. The prices are not justified for the quality of food you get.
I have to say, I ate at this restaurant three times in two weeks. That's how great the food is. The service on the other hand is why I can't give it 5 stars. While I appreciate how busy the restaurant can be, it is important to not make a customer stand there for upwards of thirty minutes for their order (that was supposed to be ready, I had actually been running late.) I would say the atmosphere is organized chaos, with an exciting interior. The food is not overly expensive for the quality received. That being said, I spent upwards of $200 for three people, take out, each time. (Incl . Tax + tip)
